    If you flashed that recovery image then do this.
    1. Turn off phone
    2. Hold power and camera buttons and then chose recovery with volume key
    3. Choose backup/ restore (power button is confirm button)
    4. Make a backup (mine took about 8 minutes or so)
    5. Profit?

    I messed around with removing different packages till I messed things up and that recovery saved me.

    That post was in reply to a previous question and not meant to be a detailed "guide". There are steps that must be performed before being able to do that.

    Hi. I'm able to eventually push the .img file to the sdcard but
    am getting permission denied for the flash _recovery.
    Here is a copy of dos window:

    C:\SDK\tools>adb shell
    $ adb push j_r0dd-mb300-v1.7.4.1.img /sdcard
    adb push j_r0dd-mb300-v1.7.4.1.img /sdcard
    adb: permission denied
    $ exit
    exit
    C:\SDK\tools>Set Path=%Path%;%cd%
    C:\SDK\tools>adb push j_r0dd-mb300-v1.7.4.1.img /sdcard/j_r0dd-mb300-v1.7.4.1.img
    712 KB/s (0 bytes in 4235264.005s)
    C:\SDK\tools>adb shell
    $ flash_image recovery /sdcard/j_r0dd-mb300-v1.7.4.1.img
    flash_image recovery /sdcard/j_r0dd-mb300-v1.7.4.1.img
    error writing recovery: Permission denied
    $

    Thanks....

    Try typing su first, then run the flash command. (I believe you're supposed to delete the existing recovery.img before flashing j_rodd's)

    I do all this from my C:\SDK\tools directory.
    From $ su I get access denied.

    I downloaded Root Explorer and browsed to /system and found no pre-existing .img files.

    You need to be rooted already to flash the recovery. Sounds like you haven't gained root yet.

    Yes I have rooted mine early this morning. I have the superuser icon and it shows that root explorer, titanium backup and terminal emulator have root access.

    And you can't use su within the shell?
