If you lost market access you probably deleted the gtalk (gtalkservice.apk, Talk.apk or gmail) stuff. It uses the gmail account to associate to the market.

    Quick question.

I tried copying the files back into the /system/app folder just to see if my theory was correct and it's telling me the folder is "read only".

If I wanted to put everything back into that folder, how would I go about it?

It needs to be mounted as read/write. There's an adb method for this. Also can be done using terminal emulator. I prefer using root explorer

That was the problem I had initially (after deleting some blur stuff). I just ran the mount command (mount -o,rw...) from the rooting process to temporarily mount the system as Read/Write. Then I copied what I needed back over and ran the mount command to make the system Read-Only again. (mount -o,ro...)
Not being a *nix expert, this worked for me, but I'm sure there's an easier way. (adb remount from the pc may accomplish the same thing.) Just make sure you have backups, I take no responsibility for anything bad happening to your phone!

WOW. I uninstalled most of that approved list, plus table top mode, and this phone is FLYING. I didn't realize that stuff slowed it down so much.

    Now I can't wait for 2.2 :D

Well, I got the process to go through, and my phone is rooted. BUT, my cell service no longer works. It had the red circle with the line through it. It's been like that since that first reboot after rooting. Could it be the permissions are just out of whack?

If you can flash the recovery, you can use it to fix permissions and see if that helps.

What files are part of the tabletop mode?
