I can't seem to get the non market apps thing to work. I still get hit with the security popup...
Carefull, my phones not even working at the moment going to have to go home and try to do the recovery ( I hope i can reflash the working version too)
idk. i followed it. i may do it again, but the value is set to 1
Even using Root Explorer. I hit the wall
Yeah, I've tested with a few non-market apps and it's not working for me either. I'll go back and double-check that I've got that DB value flipped to "1" correctly... but I wonder if this isn't something that's restricted at a deeper level in the Motoblur/ATT modified OS.
I did the process and phone works fine, but still can't install an apk from the phone.
I remember seeing a setting in a file (one of the .prop files, if I remember correctly) which pertained to installation of non-Market Apps. There was also another setting which removed it from the Settings menus entirely. I'll have to poke around and see if I can find it again.
Anyone know where ro.secure is stored? Is it in the .prop file in the phone root, or somewhere else maybe?
