    That's with the stock recovery from motorola. You need to perform the process outlined here to flash the custom recovery:

    Well adb won't work for some reason, permission denied.....I have root,terminal will go into root but adb will not.I can push to sd card but that's it. Seems like I'm not the only one having the same problem.

    When you type the su command in adb shell, immediately look to your phone to algae it superuser permissions.

    yes. once you type su. Your phone will promt you to allow your computer SU level.

    OK.... I feel real stupid... thanks for all the help,, i never thought to look at the phone:rolleyes:,,,, I think i can do it from here(it was driving me insane) thanks again.

    An even easier method has been released by j_r0dd! Simple update.zip to flash via the custom recovery, here (@ MMM). This should be stickied somewhere here..
