    Forced data reset after rooting

It is my understanding that if you do a forced data reset it will bring your phone
back to the original factory image.
If you root your phone and do a forced data reset, that will undo the root right?
Or since you rooted your phone, will the original factory data reset image be replaced with a rooted image?

    Thanks.

I believe this simply rebuilds the /data directory of the phone, which does not contain any of the files involved with root. Anything you changed under /system will remain as it was before the wipe. (Normally, this part of the phone is read-only, and not touched, so it is assumed that it does not need to be wiped.)
