Ive tried with blurhome.apk and framework-res.apk, both do the same thing
from what ive read, system apks dont need to be signed, but ive tried signed and unsigned, it doesnt seem to matter either way

GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program
GIMP is awesome in that its free and does pretty much whatever Photoshop can. If youre just making/editing images in RGB format its perfect. Its one fault is, it doesnt do CMYK color so its no good for actual press work but we dont need to worry about that for bootscreens..
While browsing through the framework folder, I also noticed that all the icons and what not are under /res/drawable. Is it possible to change these icons to our liking?
Ive actually been experimenting with that myself
Some of them (like the battery icon for example) ive been able to edit as well as a few other random things
Some of the images dont display properly when I open them in photoshop though so Im not quite sure how to handle those
