What size are the images so I know how big to make them. Not sure if bigger or higher resolution will make it take longer to load or not.

Yeah. I've been jacking 1.5 G1 themes and using on my Android by mixing them in.

Ive tried apktool and apk manager and both just dont seem to work.
Tell me which you are modifying and I'll try it out.

    Framework-res.apk/res/layout/status_bar.xml

But I think ive been doing it wrong. Ive just deodexed my phone and found a pretty in depth guide about modding the xml files in android. Gonna read through it and hopefully figure something out =]

ok so i was able to do it i think i had to start terminal emulator and enter:

    su

then in the commandline i enter:

    adb shell
    (then)
    su

-the phone asks me if i would like to give "unknow" root privliges i accept
(before i wasnt able to get permisson on my computers command line for su)

next i entered on the commandline:

    flash_image boot /sdcard/boot.img

    (then)

    reboot

    -the phone reboots succesfully

    i then continue with:

    adb remount
    (it says succeed)

    i then enter:
adb push <drive>:\<your directory>\framework-res.apk system/framework/framework-res.apk adb shell reboot

unfortunatly now it appears that even if i rebooot the phone it is still default boot screen

im changing the att boot thing so maybe thats why idk?

Very nice fldodger, care to share how you did it? XML mod perhaps? I don't have a backflip so I can't play with it a lot.
