It is possible to install the proper, official Swype beta on your phone without root or modifying your phone. I've done it since June, and the instructions on how to do it are actually posted on this forum. Take a look at http://www.attdroids.com/forum/andro....html#post6070 The only correction to that to make it work is for step 1 where you use the "adb pull" command, you have to specify a local file name for it to work, you can just use the same name "mypackage.apk" or you can rename it something more descriptive such as "swype.apk".
