    How is z4root vs orginal root? Also in a previous post somebody said u still need the root files, care to elaborate? I have installed the market root but I don't really know the capabilities of having it?

    z4root should take care of the actual rooting process. You will still need to install a custom recovery image, unlocked boot image, or custom ROM if you desire.

    Is it possible to install from unknown sources once rooted or change permissions?

    i don't think root changes the setting to allow the unknown sources. think that's part of the att rom. the preclair has the option as being able to click on/off though. to my knowledge, it's the same root

    and the z4root needing the root files, i guess i was looking at an early version of it possibly, but looks now like you dont.... just run it and it should work.

    Yes, when I did my z4root yesterday, didn't need any other files to root. Agree on needing the other files if you want custom ROM's, etc

    didn't jrodd basically just remove the att crap w/ a few other slight tweaks? i'll be happy once deblur is sorted out better.
