how about notifications?? When I set Handscent to be my default text messenger, I still get two notifications when I receive a text. I noticed, depending on if I have handscent set to default, no matter which one I choose it opens handcent. Is there a way where both won't put up notifications??

Spooky , this is a common problem encountered when you use Handcent.

Go to the stock messaging app - settings , messaging settings - text messaging - uncheck notifications for status bar.
