    Can't hear samples of ringtones....

    Help..

    My girlfriend just got a Backflip.. She was trying to pick a ringtone, and she can't hear them. I have a Moto Droid so I am familiar with Android, so I checked her phone and her settings. All looks fine. When someone calls the ringtone is audible, but, when choosing one from the ringtone menu, the sample does not play, and not sure why.

    She has a BT headset connected, but they aren't audible through the headset.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Do they play when the blue tooth headset is not connected?

    No, they don't. We have turned the volume up, and looked at everything... They don't play with the BT headset connected and disconnected. And, just to clarify, the ringtone does play when she gets a call.

    Does simply turning the phone off then on again help?

    Does removing the battery (while the phone is on), waiting about a minute and then putting the battery in and restarting help?

    Do you have any apps installed for ringtones? If you do - uninstall them and see if you still have the problem.

    Repeat the suggestions above after uninstalling the apps.

    Try a reset:

    Menu
    Settings
    SD Card & Storage
    Factory Data Reset

    When you restart the phone after the reset you will have to reenter your MotoBlur and Google account info. Be patient while the phone resyncs your contacts from MotoBlur and other sources.

    If you still have the problem after trying everything above I would exchange the phone.
