I think you're talking about Features that appear on the AT&T Wireless bill, and I think you're correct. However, it may not appear for a month or two, since they don't charge for the first month. By the time it does, you have to call and beg for a refund. Better to call sooner.

I called and made sure to cancel , as it turns out I had accessed the one day pass feature and am not in any trial period.

Google Maps has GPS but no Turn-by-Turn until Android 2.1 is released.

However, on the map view a little icon follows you and points you in the direction you are going, so you can kind of follow the path laid out that way.

It's my little work around until the update.

I cant see AT&T blocking 2.1. Its one thing to block features but to block a major os upgrade would be the dumbest thing ever and a real shot in the foot.

Plus I dont get it...google maps is already in the market place. I have it up and running on my phone, so why does everyone keep ranting about needing 2.0 or 2.1 for it?

The version we can use from the Marketplace doesn't offer turn-by-turn directions. The version which does I believe requires at least Android 1.6.

    waze

I installed the waze download yesterday, I tried a trail run to see how it worked. I knew where I was going and just wanted to test it. The route was not close to the shortest way but did need up at the collect address, probably 5 miles and 15 minutes longer. But I guess if you don't know where you are going the point is getting there.
The only problem was that the voice didn't come thru the speaker on the phone and I can't figure out how to get it on the speaker. I did get a call and turned on the speaker and the waze (guy) could be heard then, while I was talking. Can anyone tell me how to turn the speaker on with waze. Thanks
