I assume your using the default text app? Try handscent instead. Either way, try loading either texting app, and hit the menu button(4 squares button next to home). This usually pulls up menus in any app that will allow you to browse into the settings and such.

I have a question that can go here. I am using the default texting app. I had notifications turned on for notifications to the status bar....for text and email. I looked at my AT&t Account this morning because I am still figuring out this phone and sure enough I see over ten text messages used from my LIMITED number, it has to be that right. I only sent one text yesterday.

The AT&T account lists it as TO/FROM - wap.cingular- TYPE - Internet/MEdia Net , and they are all SENT.

    So I unchecked notifications.

Am I correct in thinking that this is what it is?

When I receive a notification does that count as a text message received?

Never. This is simply the phones way of saying hey you have a text. If you only sent one and it says 10 I would contact att about it as they can provide more info.
