It's unclear what service or company you're talking about.

Can you give a web site or company name?

Sorry , in the app tray there is an app called Mobile Video, when you click on it it opens in the browser as "cingularvideo.cingular.com. It features categories for news, sports etc .

Also in the app tray there is Mobile TV that warns you before it opens that " this product will use a large amount of data and you are responsible for all data charges.

AT&T strongly recommends that you subscribe to a Media Max data bundle or high data usage plan for your device IN ADDITION to this purchase.

Ah, that one. I clicked on that once when I first got the phone and decided that it was high priced bloatware from one of AT&T's business partners and never to click on it again.

I think not only does it use tons of bandwidth but it's also a subscription TV streaming service with a significant monthly fee. I might be wrong about that but I don't think so.

If you decide you want mobile TV on your phone you'd be better off going with a Sling Box installed at home that you can access over the internet. But you'll have to wait a few months for Sling Media to release the mobile phone client they're currently working on for Android.

The Sling Box will cost you $150 or so but then there's no monthly charge at all after that. The Sling Box lets you control your home cable box and stream that over the internet to their client app on your laptop, phone, or remote PC. Their client app becomes a plugin for your browser, by the way.

Well, MobiTV does require a monthly subscription which appears to be $9.99/mo. A link to ATTs page for MobiTV is here.

As for the Mobile Video you mentioned, it doesn't appear to require anything other than an unlimited data package. See the link for more info.

Good information but I don't think MobiTV works on the backflip. At least the backflip isn't listed as a supported phone by AT&T.

I checked the Mobile Video app in the app tray a little closer. And that looks more promising. There seems to be quite a few videos there but the ones I looked at were all just short clips of the video you thought they'd be. They end after just a few minutes.

They also offer a 'premium service' which looks like a kind of 'pay per view' thing. I didn't check to see what's offered as 'premium'. Maybe that's where the full videos are.

And make sure you have the unlimited data plan from AT&T, which I'm sure most of us do have.

I don't know if it works or not, but the MobiTV app is installed as part of ATT's bloatware. One would presume that it works.

Yeah, I just noticed that in there, too. So I'm sure you're right.

Mobile Video is free to use. My wife has used it a ton. They used to call it Cingular Video. She's been using it for over a year now.
