Erasing Gmail account thats Locked on

I bought a Moto BackFlip used and the guy left his gmail on there locked with no password. It doesnt give me the option to erase it.

This is what ive been doing:
    - account settings, then his gmail is the only one listed (google) with a lock icon on right hand side, Tap into his account (Google Sign In) "Password is not Valid" Username in grey letters that cant be changed or clicked on.. Then a Blank Password.

It doesnt give me an option to delete or change user id or anything. Its just stuck there with no delete options (which is driving me crazy)

I setup a "email" account which is my gmail but it wont let two gmail accounts active at once.... Not Letting me get any Apps or Moblie Music.

    HELP!

Doing a factory reset on the phone should clear everything, including his Gmail account.

Yes, a factory reset will make the phone just as if you had taken it out of the box for the first time. You can reinstall any apps on the phone, and as long as you use the same Motoblur account (you are using your own Motoblur account, right?) if you have purchased any apps from the app store, you can also reinstall them without having to repurchase.

Honestly, the guy who sold you the phone should have factory reset the phone before sending it to you. Sloppy on his part.
