Question Select All in Gmail App?

Hello All... I did a search and wasn't able to find the answer to my question so please don't hate me if I missed it!

I get a ridiculous amount of email sent to my Gmail account every day, I also sit in front of a computer all day so I already have access to the account without having to view it on my phone. With that said, at the end of the day I have 60+ unread emails on my phone and have already read them on my PC and would rather not select every single email with a little green check mark and then choose Mark Read...

Once you select more than 1 email, it gives you a Deselect All but why not a Select All?

Can anyone help me please? Thanks so much!

i can't seem to find one either.. perhaps just turn off the auto-sync on your phone for that account while you are at work?

As Con5150 is getting at, you need to have google sync turned on. Then your phone will show them all marked the same as they are on your PC.

Hi and thank you for responding... Unfortunately, when I go to Settings/Google Synchronization/ ALL of the available options listed are checked...
    Backgroud Data
    Auto-sync
    Gmail
    Calendar
    Contacts

    Am I missing something?

It may not be immediate, but the synchronization should mark read any messages you have already read from the website.

I don't want to say for sure that this isn't happening but I'm 99% sure it's not. I'm going to test today and get back to you on that... Thanks!

    Oooops...

I realized something as soon as I posted my last reply... I actually pull my Gmail Account emails through Outlook Express on my PC... so I'm never actually touching the emails on the Gmail Website, only on Outlook Express... Hence why they're not synching.

I went to the Gmail Website, marked all read and voila, all emails on the phone were then marked read... I then changed the setting so that when an email hits my Outlook Express, it shows it as read in Gmail, that way during the day while Outlook Express is open, it will also mark all emails read on Gmail and my phone... Sweeeeet!!!

Even still, if anyone finds or figures out a way to Select All Emails on the Phone side, please let me know... Thanks so much!!!

You should be able to setup your Gmail account in OE (really though, Outlook Express? hehe) as an IMAP account rather than POP3 which would be a much neater solution. This is basically the way that your email is accessed by the default email client on the phone.

The Gmail IMAP settings can be found here. You will just need to log into the Gmail site and go to settings and enable IMAP support.

Just like everyone else said, once you read an email on your computer, it should sync with you phone and be marked as read. May not happen right away give it a few minutes or just refresh with the gmail app.
