It's more odd that it was mentioned at all. Normally, when running a beta program, testers are often under a non-disclosure agreement that prohibits even acknowledging that a beta test exists.

Everyone take a deep breath and just wait. It'll be out before you know it.

Part of me thinks this "leak" of information was made with the explicit propose of getting us owners buzzing again.

I don't doubt that progress is being made, but I'm not entirely sure they are as far along as we're being led to believe. Nothing to do but wait and speculate and bring interest to the phone again.

What kind of upgrades can we expect from 2.1. I have never seen it in action. Is the browser different for instance, what about the music player, the UI looks the same?....

The interface is going to look pretty similar as far as home screen button designs etc.

    Biggest features to me:
    - Multitouch (pinch to zoom)
    - Resizeable Widgets
    - 7 Home screens
    - Updated Marketplace (More apps supported, thumbnai previews)
    - Should optimize phone performance
    - Hopefully will become rootable
    - Filtering in widgets
    - Battery Manager

Just the main ones IMO there are others

Also looks like we get contacts widgets now. I think that'll be cool. and LiveWallpapers if you're looking for another way to drain your battery faster lol.

Yea. Motorola does their research. They know people were giving up on it for other phones/manufacturers. But this glimpse of progress urges people to hold on to their phones a little longer
