My experience with other phones (haven't tried with the backflip) was a no, but I guess you can give it a try.

Most boost phones that aren't iDEN are CDMA and run on Sprint's network, so nope. If it's a pure CDMA boost handset, it won't even have a SIM card, as CDMA doesn't require one, only an IMEI. AFAIK though, all boost phones are either iDEN only or dual-mode iDEN/CDMA. Even if unlocked, the backflip or any variation on the Motus will not read a Boost SIM.

This. It is the same reason you can't take an iPhone and use it on Sprint or Verizon's network. They just aren't compatible (though supposedly there will be a CDMA iPhone out next year on Verizon if the rumors are to be believed  )

figures. att is just too damn expensive, especially now since they dropped the unlimited data plan. What kind of crap is that? lol

I would not even suggest using Boost Mobile. All I ever hear is that network has many data problems and is extremely slow.

A lot of cell providers off 3G data speeds. ATT isn't THAT expensive compared with other providers. If Boost is what you want to use, you may be able to look at the Motorola i1. It is an iDen based Android/Motoblur phone.

VZW is following suit. Maybe try Cricket (if they're in your area)? I think they're GSM.
