Will people running j_r0dd's preclair be able to update their devices with the official 2.1 update OTA?

I had issues with the custom recovery (just rooted but still on 13.37 MotoBlur) letting me apply the update .zip. I had to flash back to stock 13.37 using RSDLite and then it worked with no probs. It just wipes all of your info off of the phone having to do it that way.

I'm also not sure if the j_r0dd's Preclair would see the official Moto Update as NEWer than the current firmware to ask you if you want to install it as an update after it's on your SD card. There might be another way to force the phone to start the upgrade, but I don't know it.

    Anyone else know? Tried it?

No, you cannot. You have to have the stock recovery in order to install the official upgrade. If you are running a custom ROM you'll need to flash back to stock and then do the upgrade.

Anyone else have problems with the speed dial menu? We updated my wife's, and you can't dial out from the speed dial menu. I can remove entries, but not dial.

i'm just having annoyance problems, but everything is overall better. really pissed about how the blue facebook widget now feeds your farmville and mafiawars and crap links, but and update is supposed to give the option to customize what you get updates on, so we shall see

really pissed though that my mic problem still exists, STILL have to hold the phone in just the right position for people to hear me.

on the upside though this forum is among what seems like very few that has refrained from posting the download link.
