    Question z4root?

Is z4root still in the android market?? I just read that it's been removed. I don't have my backflip yet so I cant manually check it out. Is it possible to install it from another source? How would I do that (please direct me to the right post if needbe)?

z4Mod Root was indeed removed from the market, but it can be found here.

EDIT: And to install it, use the Android Sideload Wonder Machine.

    Awesome, thank you!!

Oh, does a refurbished Backflip come with a usb cable? I don't know if the cable I have will work with it. It is the flattened micro usb cord. Thanks!

Yep, sure does. It comes with an OEM Motorola MicroUSB cable. But any MicroUSB will work with the Backflip. It's USB port isn't recessed like the Captivate.

I've been wondering because I saw one video on youtube where it was a refurb backflip box and it only came with a regular wall charger, not the usb cable/charger combo thing...

    Question

Hmm. I ran z4root, permanent root. The phone doesn't reboot. It does shut off but I have to hit the on button to start it up. And I've ran it twice now and it says it's installed but no other apps are showing up to remove in the manage applications... So I don't think it's fully rooted. Not sure what to do to make it work. Any ideas?

I've done lots of research over the past few days. I just don't remember all the places I've found the info so I have questions. I am installing Titanium Backup free edition. Thanks for your help, marvin.

This is my functional frozen apps list, so far. I now have a faster phone that works how I want it to work.

    at&t navigator
    at&t radio
    at&t wifi hotspots

I use ES Task Manager to kill all apps, then launch what I use, to see what runs it.
I also use Cache Cleaner. If an app is slow to load, stop it and clean the cache, then it loads quickly.
I did have a weird issue at first. The phone would only ring audibly if I set it to Ring Only w no CID. After a reboot, it is working normal.
Also, a great shortcut to create (IMO) is Facebook Phonebook. It is in the Folders section.
