Was wondering if anyone has had a chance to use their d2g overseas or
anywhere out of country, and what their experience was like ?

Personally I have not, but my friend just got back from Spain and he said the D2G performed perfectly. There were not any issues at all.
It worked great for me. Went on deployment, and I would have to say the phone operation worked well. I would only use the Verizon Vodaphone sim car in emergencies, as global roaming rates ripped my ass a new one.
Also, make sure to turn off ALL data services unless you are connecting to WIFI, and its nice having a Verizon Phone, because I could actually leave my phone on in CDMA mode, and switch to GSM/UMTS mode when I wished to call.
I would recommend calling Global Tech Support and getting the unlock code for your phone, then picking up a local SIM card anywhere you are traveling, as I said global roaming rates suck, and European countries the size of our states charge each other roaming. I blew through 70 Euros of a prepaid Italian card by roaming in Greece.
Bte, it took a minute or two for my phone to "register" on a local network, so have patience. Once it registered, it worked great after that.
