(How to root) I'll start off the Droid 2 section by saying....

LIBERTY IS THE BEST ROM AROUND!!! (In my opinion)
There are however many Droid 2 Roms to choose from!

    Check out Liberty here:
[ROM] The Eagle Has Landed!!!! - Liberty 1.0 1/11/11 - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

If you don't know how to root your Droid 2 then then you'll need this:
Much simpler guide for rooting (no pc required) - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

(You'll need these files: MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service Just unzip them to the root of your SDCARD)

Alternitively you can use the z4root method if you want something REALLY easy:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
Unzip that file and install the .apk and it does the rest for you!

If you need a free version of Droid2Bootstrap.apk you can get it here: http://koush.tandtgaming.com//motoro...2Bootstrap.apk

Although I will recommend you get it from the market and support Koush for all of his hard work!!!

Other than that enjoy your Droid 2 and feel free to ask me any questions!

How about you link to the XDA forum thread so the dev doesn't get mad and if anyone feels like donating to him they have the option? [APP] z4root - xda-developers

Have you tried liberty? It's based on the Gummy jar base and I have found it just as fast but packed with extra features.

Beautiful thing is if your coming from gj 2.5 then you don't have to wipe data or cache. Should be able to just throw it on top.
