    That isn't exactly correct, at least on the DX, the radio, MBM, radio etc aren't touched. It wipes out /system and starts over. We don't have a ROM section here yet, but you can check them out here

    Rerooting, provided you unrooted before accepting the update, is not that big a deal. Just use z4root or superoneclick if you can.

    As far as ROMs go, I would highly suggest checking out Liberty or RubiX Focused.

    I'm definitely leaning towards Rubix Focused. I don't really get what they are trying to do with Liberty.

    Liberty is very similar to RubiX Focused except that it contains a custom Toolbox for easy ROM customization. It's really a great feature, but if the additional modifications are beyond your realm of need or desire, then RubiX Focused is great.

    gummyJAR 2.5 is also worth noting, it is from kejar31 (one of the devs of liberty) and it is what the current rubiX focused is based off of.

    i was actually in the same boat as you but you'll find everything you need to know from roolers guide to rooting.. everything is there..just follow the steps.. i tried gummy jar..and it was great.. and now i'm on liberty and it's better...
