As I understand it, this mode only functions when connected to a tty device. Some time back I used my portable tty when connected to a cell phone. However, with my current Verizon 'no voice minutes' plan, I never use that function anymore. So, in short, my understanding has always been that the tty-compatibility mode just means the cell phone CAN handle tty calling when properly connected to a tty device:Originally Posted by les shamel

welcome to the site both of you!! cvhovey is correct you have to have another devce capabile of tty, your phone will be able to connect when you have it..
