    Question CyanogenMod for Droid X

Okay this is going to be a multi-part question.

    1) Is there a version of CyanogenMod Rom for the Droid X? I didn't see the phone listed on the site.

    2) If not is there a reason to not install it?

    3) If I can install it how do I go about doing it? I know this is a doosy of a question but I would love a good resource on how to put a custom rom on my phone
3a) when installing a custom rom does it wipe all my data? Do I need to reinstall everything?

    4) If Cyanogen won't work on the Droid X () is there another ROM that is as good that will?

I think that's it. Let me know. Thanks

There's is no cm rom, don't install just any version on the X, a cm rom is in the making, there are many quality ROMs for the X (see Droid X Forum) and do more research on ROMs before jumping in.

There are couple roms I've seen in the non-Droid X world predominantly such as CM and Ultimate Droid, etc.. I think a lot of those roms work around a deeper kernel base, however the Droid X's locked bootloader doesn't allow such a rom. However like Droid Xer said, there are some seriously great roms specific to the Droid X and Droid 2 to accomodate. I'd love to see CM on my wife's HTC.. Supposedly it's an awesome rom as is UD.

For the moto Droids (X and 2) you'll find roms in various shades of two catagories.. Blurry and Blurless, meaning how much of the original motoblur addons or mods as opposed to plain vanilla android (blurless). All depends on your tastes as to whether you like the blur-specific apps (social networking, news widget, blur contacts and it's integration with social networking, etc).

Sorry I'm in "can't shut up mode" today.
