While trying to put on my screen protector it slipped out of my hands and onto the carpet. It now has all sorts of tiny particles of lint or dust. I can't get it off. Is it ruined?

While trying to put on my screen protector it slipped out of my hands and onto the carpet. It now has all sorts of tiny particles of lint or dust. I can't get it off. Is it ruined?

Check the manufacture website - where you bought it. I am using the Clarivue one and on that one, you can use scotch tape to remove the dust particles from the sticky side.

If it is a removable or static cling type, then you can rinse with soap and water. Or as N1David said, cover it with scotch tape. Make sure you know which end was the beginning end and layer the tape so you can peel it off.
If it is the type you apply with the spray solution, I believe it is ruined.

You can clean the lint and dust off the sticky side of a screen protector very easily. First place the screen protector, sticky side up, on a clean sheet of paper which you have laid on a table. Then take a clean lint roller and move it carefully up and down the sticky side of the screen protector until all the dust comes off. Now your screen protector is like new and can be carefully placed on your mobile phone or device.
