:D thanks for visiting my blog!

Yea I don't think a HTC shift would run the emulator well. My laptop gets very slow (this is a core 2 duo)

as for installing it as an os, I can't gather much info, but as far as compatibility goes, it seems than the x86 program works best on netbooks with an atom cpu

    Hardware List - Android-x86 - Porting Android to x86

but since it comes in the form of a live cd, just see if it runs successfully first.

Off to sleep its almost midnight! I'll reply to you tomorrow

I travel to Hong Kong every 2 years for my gadgets, Australia is slow.
Galaxy Nexus? I like Nexus prime more. Even the code name "Maguro" seemed cooler.

Let me know how it goes, I was pretty interested in the HTC shift when I was looking for a laptop!

just browsing the xda forums and find this:

    Android x86 - xda-developers

so we at least knows it runs and installs it did even run on my laptop perhaps there Will be further improvements in later builds.

    Just a small update :P

"Back in September Sony Ericsson announced its new gadget for Android devices - LiveView. It’s a Bluetooth wristwatch that can remote control your phone. The LiveView is now getting an update that brings improved stability, compatibility with other Android handhelds and the number of available plug-ins raises to a total of 30.

With the number of compatible apps growing in the Android Market, LiveView has the potential to become a must-have accessory.

Some connection issues have reportedly been solved with the new update, although the Sony Ericsson official blog actually says “most identified reasons for random disconnects”, so that’s not exactly all, is it?

The crashes that users have reported have also been resolved, so here’s where active user feedback is paying off. Also automatic reconnect has been implemented, which means that should you leave the device and disconnect, upon coming in its range it will automatically connect you again.

Also compatibility with competitor’s phones has been vastly improved. That means that you don’t have to be limited to using only Sony Ericsson’s Android portfolio and can use LiveView with almost any Android device out there that has version 2.0 or higher. Though there are still some stability and reconnection issues with certain phones running Android 2.2 Froyo, the Sony Ericsson support page claims a simple reboot is all that’s needed to fix those.

The update itself is already available for download, so go get it if you have a LiveView watch"

This update is pretty sweet and has made a great attachment into a must for N1 users and maybe out new NS brothers. The update greatly increases connection and compatibility issues and allows up to 30 new plugins to be utilised i am been using from release and can safely say that this is now one bit of kit all N1 users should look into.

Now this update is out I'm thinking of getting one for my N1. The disconnects, etc. before were putting me off. Nobby, what's the battery life like now?

Are there any high street stores stocking it? I'd love to see one before buying it, just because I'm worried that it may look OK on a bloke's wrist, but stick out like a sore thumb on my little girlie one lol!

Hi dhevans, the battery life is the only thing that i would consider 6/10, it will last a full 7:30am - 10pm day constantly connected (a tough thing really) and will disconnect and auto re-connect about 30-40 times a day and mostly unnoticed unless you have a large amount of unread data and then it will just keep alerting you to the new data.

As for the looks i cant say it works for everyone, i and my girlfriend both own one and the other day after a nice ride into the county i took mine off while i washed and she walked round the rest of the day with one on each wrist rocking the look if i may say so xD and for the stocking in local stores i have yet to see one unfortunately it seems it may be a bit of a net only product

    Hope this helps

    Thanks!
That seems to be a lot of disconnections - is it because you are moving out of range?

My n1 needs charging once a day, which I don't mind, will all this connectivity to bt make it worse?

The connection drops seem to be part of the big update process as it seems to disconnect and then reconnect with a big update, I shall test it all tomorrow and see how many times it actually messes up, I have been told by my better half that she has had days where it doesn't disconnect at all so it must be the large amount of updates that causes mine to fluctuate?

    Thanks for the update

I was just reading about the update a while ago and it was nice to see the main problem being fixed.

Even till NOW as we speak, the liveview is not available locally in Australia. I've decided if I do want one, I'd need to buy it online (I would LOVE a metal wrist band and a metal case for the liveview itself too (if it exists...)!!).

On Ebay, it costs about 70-80 AUD with 20AUD shipping (so it comes to abit less or equal to 100 AUD). Is this reasonable? How much is it locally in the UK?
