Some are saying they have class 2 and it works fine, I'll be playing movies/music extensively off it so it needs to perform well. Will class 4 be sufficient?
the class is write speed, not the read speed. the is designated with 32x 150x etc. so in theory a class 2 can play back video faster than a class 6 depending on speed

the question we need an answer to is how fast can the n1 write to a card. i haven't found this info. if it can't write at class 6 speed than a class six card is useless

I must admit, in all the excitement about the nexus one, there is one thing that annoys me - that the 32 gig isnt available. It wasnt clear to me (as a newbie) that I was going to have to wait

My plan was to dump my ipod (30 gig - quite an old one) - and I thought the N1 would be perfect at 32 gig (2 gig for apps!) -

It now seems like I have to wait another 6 months for the 32gig cards to come out, and for the price to go down a bit before I can retire the IPOD

Class 6 is the best. (the higher the number the faster the transfer rates -- 2, 4, 6 mb per second): http://www.sdcard.org/developers/tech/microsdhc/

I just got a Kingston 8GB Class 4 made in Taiwan. I have not opened it yet, do you think it will be OK to use? Someone mentioned only ones from Japan.

I got a 16gb, class 4 TOPRAM on ebay for $43. Had it for a couple of weeks now. Seems to be working fine for those that may be more cost conscious.
