Folks, just remember that when you're doing an Internet speed test, that you're testing the entire chain. In other words, the slowest component link is the limiting factor. So there are times when it does not matter that your WiFi is super fast if the back end connection to the Internet is slow.
Phone -> WiFi -> ISP -> internet server
Phone -> 3G Network -> ISP -> internet server
If the ISP link in case one is 1.5 Mbps, then the best possible speed that you'll get is 1.5 Mbps. It doesn't matter whether you have wireless B,G, or N.
My wifi is almost 3 times faster than 3G at all times. Maybe all of you that have faster 3G should check into your router and internet provider. Investing in a faster router helped me. Also your internet provider may have different packages that you can get to increase your speeds on wifi.
I pulled out my laptop the other day and the wireless speed on that came pretty close to the phone wifi speeds. I guess I need another router if I want more speed.
I got here using a searcher, i been having problems with my wifi for several days and its getting worst every day. I think everytime i do a speed test my speed decreases. may it be possible? i tried opening some ports as a friend told me, can somebody help me?
