I tried it, and sometimes it doesn't stop blinking. I had to uninstall/reinstall to fix it...

The settings would not save for me. I put everything on fast and I sat the battery level to 10%. Then a notification popped up when my battery was below 50%. And all the settings are back to default again. Would be nice if the settings would save.

An interesting app would be one that uses the LED like a VU meter for audio. It'd be interesting to see it pulsing from green all the way up to red (at -0dB) in sync with the music playing (or any other audio). That'd be cute and cool. Anyone that wants to develop that, I hereby give up any rights to the idea. It's not like I think I'm giving up a million buck idea :D
o- Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0
o- Samsung Galaxy Tab running stock Froyo (update: running Gingerbread and virtually useless)

Thanks. I'll give this a try.

    Edit:
It seems to save the settings. Another thing though, I set my incoming calls to red. I tried calling myself, it would only light up red just once at the beginning, then it would blink white after that.

The track ball always blinks white when the screen is on, which happens when you get a call (not for text messages, so it keeps blinking your selected color).

I uninstalled blink because is really sucks my battery.
