I assume this means I can stop all these unwanted apps from running, like Amazon MP3, Facebook, Twitter, Google Voice Search etc. My phone has never actually got to the point where it's running slow, but I still dislike the idea that I have a bunch of apps running that I'm not using at all.

Oh that's a shame. You know you posted this to a forum about the Google Nexus One where (by now) we're almost all running Android 2.2.
o- Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0
o- Samsung Galaxy Tab running stock Froyo (update: running Gingerbread and virtually useless)

You edited it and now it doesn't say it's optimized for phones that aren't the N1 ... I'm confused.

Yeah I thought that was a bit confusing too. Why say an Android app is optimized for all those versions of the Android OS. It's an Android app.

Anyway, it's a moot point if it needs a rooted phone anyway.

Given that you can root your phone with a simple app, without unlocking the bootloader or voiding the warrenty, the point isn't that moot.

FYI - I didn't say that, and I do have a rooted phone (there's no downside, as you said).

But my point was that the OP said it was "optimized" for certain phones not including the n1. But when that was pointed out, he took off that line.
