One of the early reviews of the N1 stated that an internal multi-function chip was capable of FM reception, but I've seen no convincing evidence that anybody's ever gotten that function working. I'd welcome refutation from somebody who has!

In the meantime, if you have internet connectivity, apps like TuneIn Radio are great.

David has a good point...with so many streaming apps available (Slacker, Pandora, LastFM, etc), why bother with OTA FM? I haven't listened to anything but my alma mater's football games in years now!

It works trust me I'm listening to it right now. Its good if you find yourself in a Pinch (Alien Invasion, Zombie Attack lol) I don't think internet radio has the emergency broadcast system on it...

Here is a screenshot of it on my phone

Another plus to the FM radio is that I do not think it requires a Data Connection

Just so I understand, the only way to get FM radio without using your data plan or WiFi connection is to root your phone and then install a rom with the appropriate software?

another big recommendation here for the TuneIn app.

its free and if you're really hurting to get your local radio stations it has a 'local' option to show a list of what's available in your area. (stations where i live are utter crap)

best thing i've used in a while, i use it to listen to stations in europe and a couple good station across the US.
