Maybe we should start a poll?

I would be interested in which one is the best as I have all 3, Lookout, Mobile Defense and Wavesecure, installed. I would really only like to use 1 if possible, though Lookout has the added anti-virus.

And what do you think of AntiDroidTheft?
Which one of the three is the most battery friendly?
I'm looking more in case of lost phone rather than getting it stolen.

Mobile Defense doesn't use any battery life until activated, and is only activated remotely. If a Sims card is replaced you will be notified via the email on the account. You can remotely lock/unlock the phone, track, disable audio and back up data. It reads off the IMEI number and not the SIMS so it will detect any unknown changes to the phone and report to you.

I personally like it and hope I never have to use it.

Does anobody know when it'll be availible in Canada?

    Lookout Question

    noob question...

I downloaded lookout on my n1 - and I went to the website to set-up... but on the site it asked for cell number so it can send a download link.

I don't need the download link link (of course I already downloaded)... I just need to access the account and set up whatever is necessary for recover, etc.

I'm sure there is an easy explanation - can anyone help?
    Ron Paul is correct.

tinnguyen123: That was an awesome story, I'm glad it had a happy ending. I'll be sure to install those apps when I get my Nexus One! It's never a sure thing that you will lose your phone or if it will be stolen... so it's better to be safe than sorry. Plus a victory story is always awesome to tell all your friends

I like about wave secure, you can locate your phone online and it shows you on a map where it is, you can lock your phone if you lose it, incase you have personal data on it.

I read through this thread and I have a couple of questions:

    1. I currently told t-mobile to block all my sms cause I keep on getting spam, but I am using google voice for my sms. will any of these theft/loss app work with google voice since it requires a sms to be sent to your original phone number?

    2. Or is there any app that do not require a sms to be sent to your original phone number?

None currently work through google voice. WaveSecure is supposedly working on this. Email I got from them:

    Hi,

WaveSecure currently doesn't support Google Voice numbers. We're considering GV support in the near future.

We'll be glad to send you a free version if you'd like to help us beta test with GV. If you're interested, please drop an email to android@tencube.com
