Apple Lossless: don't do it (?)

I just discovered that by importing CDs using the Apple Lossless encoder, the resulting M4A files will not play on the Nexus One. However, ACC encoded files (also M4A) *WILL* play. Just thought I'd throw that out there in case anyone else was having trouble with their music. Any other comments on that?

This is the way of things proprietary, perhaps someone will write an ALAC plugin for the Android, but I would rather a FLAC one because it's free and open source. You might be able to convert your existing ALAC files to FLAC, but in the future, it might be more convenient to just use FLAC when converting them because FLAC will "probably" be more standard on devices in the future.

I use lossless as well. You can use doubletwist, among other things to convert them. doubletwist.com
