Unbelievably I have thus far resisted the urge to root my N1. Out of curiosity, what will CM6 add that isn't in Froyo? Is it still worth rooting?

Well cinsidering CM5 over 2.1 his builds are sweet and packed with features so i chose him over stock and the rest of the Rom designers. on the forums and twitter he has been saying how he is integrating everything he has done plus shed load more into this new build so i am guessing that it is going to be of those things people root for just to get a hold of his creations

Got it on late last night. Although its an 'alpha' and Test-0 with some reported problems, I havn't had any!
Clean wipe and install. I updated to froyo at the first leak, then back to Enom keeping the Radio. You need the Froyo radio for this btw, but I already had it.
Booted up perfect and it is running perfect FROYO as far as I can tell, nothing wrong (have yet to try out more stuff tho!) and it is FAST with all the goodies you remember with Cyan's builds.
Alot of people been waiting for this! The updates are gonna fix any stability issues as well as get all the community stuff on there like 720p recording etc...
No big issues seen here, so I say go for it! any issues just recover from Nandriod

Would you say it is ok to update to Alpha version or would it be better to wait for a full release?

why not just flash the alpha while you're waiting for a full version? it's not the end of the world if you flash the alpha version and for some reason, you don't like it. if that's the case, all you need to do is flash a different ROM.
