2 questions. Seems like no one has answered these questions sorry.
Is CM6 a stable version yet? (according to CM wiki it is not) just wondering.
Will CM6 come out over their CM updater app?
Thanks.

No CM6 is only out at a release candidate. And CM already has an updater app, its called CM Updater.

He was asking if it would be available over the cm updater not if he is coming up with an updater. And as far as I know the new release is making its way to the cm updater soon, and after flashing the alpha and moving to the beta I can say that it is indeed apparent that it is a beta but it is very stable.

Not sure if this is what's being asked but if one is running cm6 rc1, will it auto update (ota?) to rc2 or whatever the next release is? Or will a wipe and install of the next version be necessary?
No when a new version is released you will have to update via rom manager or the cm updater but that is very simple as you just flash over the previous version keeping all data intact, very quick transition![]()

I also have both but now use rom manager as it seems to have his newest releases faster than the updater does, doesn't matter I would use the updater if it had it first.

quick question: is the camera updated to the 720p recording in cm6 or do we have to flash it to get that
