You have the FroYo radio, so there is no need to update it.
Try flashing CM6 again. You can even do it manually instead of through ROM Manager. I can run you through the steps later on this afternoon if you need me to. Just send me a msg on GTalk.
I'm glad everything is working good. ALL my applications have never given me any issues. No FC's and no lag in switching home-screens or running applications.
Wow! I've really wanted to root my Nexus but I've been really afraid of bricking it. I know the risk still exists but this sounds safer.
Uhm, these directions are still good, aren't they? :D
If not, you'll be good to go. If you still want to try, just backup and you won't have any issues. If you need help, feel free to contact me on GTalk: Sheanzyy@gmail.com
It's easy and simple. Doesn't take long at all .
The OTA to FRG83 fixes the vulnerability that is exploited by the 1-click-root app (Universal Androot).
For those that lose root access after upgrading to FRG83, but still have custom recovery (i.e. Clockwork or Amon-Ra) can follow the steps mentioned here:
xda-developers - View Single Post - Android 2.2.1 updates installation
Also, have a look at this thread if the above does not work:
[HOW-TO] Root FRGxx builds without unlocking bootloader - xda-developers
I followed the instructions and it just worked! I think!
Now I made all the steps the Recovery booted and now I see the blue Android inside the rounded arrow. The flame round the arrow all the time, I hope it is because is doing something ... I will wait.
If I boot into recovery the screen gets black without showing any text.
In both cases I need to remove the battery to restart.
In both cases I see the device with adb.
When the telephone is in the blue Android state I see a lot of:
