CM7 rocks problems with RC2: Gmail, Faceook, Google Voice all FC. Most important Manage and Restore is empty, no back ups.

Just did a backup from RC1 and then installed Via Rom Manager - no problems with Google apps etc

    Don't use rom manager.
Put file on sd card, reboot initio recovery and flash the file from there. I flash nightlies to rc1 to more nightlies to rc2 and to build 14 and never a problems (I wipe cache and dalvik before every flash).
However if you are having any kind of problems right now a clean install is good.

It's not on ROM Manager...is it? I sure don't see it, and I've received no update for it since they went back to the old icon.

ROM Manager updates are naff. You only get updates from nightly to nightly, or RC to RC, so if your on a nightly you won't get an RC notification...

    Slims right aseems,

Always nandroid first or have a recent one--but, going from RC1 to RC2 should need only wipe of Dalvik Cache and Cache. You can always restore if a problem occurs. RC2 is really Nightly 13, as far as I can tell.

I only fully format/wipe if changing roms.

There are always a few who have upgrade issues, most of them seem to be using Rom Manager or CW 3.+

Cyan is only recommending a wipe from CM6 to CM7 RC's
