Tried it a few times today. Everything is great, open Maps adbd everything goes crazy, reboot everything is fine, open Maps, crazy, etc...

Have you tried reloading Maps yet? I use that app everyday. So there's one more reason for me not to flash RC2... dang!

I'm thinking of switching back to MIUI...

Quick boot just lets you reboot, copy into recovery, etc. The only app I know that lets you flash recovery is ROM Manager (unless you wasn't to count Terminal?)

Done all the obvious. Reinstalled Maps, wipe data from Maps, wiped phone, wiped dalvik, fixed permissions etc... No joy!

Ta da! I think I've fixed it!! xD

I have my own custom gapps package that I flash on new installs (removes stock launcher and adds ADW EX, adds Titanium and eStrongs file manager, my own boot animation, etc). Really speeds up my crack flashing!

Anyway, I added the latest Maps apk to the zip so it installs in system instead of updating to data. I also set permissions with the zip, etc.

End result, Maps is no longer causing issues!! Pretty happy with RC2 right now...

It's funny. I absolutely hated MIUI the first day I had it. Flashed back to CM 6.1.1 by nightfall. Then I had the episode with gingerbread trying to install, so I flashed MIUI back, cuz that's all I had on my SD card. Kinda liked it Sunday, and Now I'm really looking forward to the Gingerbread MIUI next Friday!

That said. I think I'm going to give RC2 a shot tomorrow. I'm going to do what Danger did with gapps and a few other apps, because I've had trouble with GMaps and GMail every time I flash gapps.

That would be good news for fastboot shy folks and those unrooted by GB OTA

If you follow this dude you should be fine:

Upgrading from CM6 to CM7 - CyanogenMod Forum

    Full Wipe/Gapps 3/7/DT 2.7.5.2

Maybe even use temasek's system/boot/data/cache wipe

    [NIGHTLY][ROM] [GRI40] CyanogenMod 7 for vendor Passion (HTC Nexus One) - Page 1571 - xda-developers

In his sig and for amon_ra, cwm has that option

    I always wipe 3x before flashing--minimizes issues

    I edited my post:
The one-click rumor turned out to be Superboot, which requires bootloader to be unlocked anyway...
