I haven't had time to test yet, but that's what I'm reading. I'll update the thread later, to let people know

a lot of guys are reporting the gingerbreak exploit not working for update 2.3.4

for those of you who wish to keep root and update to 2.3.4, use the custom recovery method.
I did it and it worked like a champ!

flashed 2.3.4 update and then su.apk and I still had root - danger-rat gets the credit for this!

    .:. version 2.3.4
    .:. build number GRJ22
.:. ROOT - Stock Gingerbread img
    ...................
.:. Update from Gingerbread 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 and maintain root

Not sure but I think your screwed cause the passimg method you need to get to bootloader and accept the prompt, and to unlock the bootloader you need the power button as well so I'm not sure what you can do but wait for a one click solution to come to 2.3.4

Curio, I responded to your PM.
Just passimg - you use the volume keys to confirm, so you should be golden.
Root, install recovery and restore your backup...
