    That's wierd

You did put both the img dl's dr linked on the root of your sd card, not in any folders

Are you verifying that with something like file mgr or linda mgr from market

    I don't have icons

Make sure you spaces are correct on the command line. You want a space after recovery and before the /sdcard

Can you flash 2.2.1 thru rom mgr then go back and reflash thru terminal to make it permament

See this about the part of extracting the flash_img zip while on pc then copying the extracted file to root of sd card, not just copying the dl img from DR's link to sdcard

    Nexus One/Recovery Images - XDA-Developers

You want the .img on the card not the dl'd .zip

    Also,

review this thread and maybe re download rcovery image from there doing latest version:

    [Recovery] [07-Jan-2011] RA-passion-v2.2.1 - xda-developers

Open up terminal and type "pwd"

This will tell you your present working directory. If the response is / , then you need to change directory to the sd card, so type:

    cd /sdcard

    Then try again...

To extract, just right click on the dl zip on pc and select extract. It will create a folder on same screen which if you check properties will now be an image not zip. Put that on root of sdcard

The flash_image is not a zip, you're just working from the wrong directory - see my post above...
