You've unlocked your bootloader?
This is a discussion on Help to root Nexus One on 2.3.4 [Beginner] within the Nexus One Development & Hacking forums, part of the Nexus One category; You've unlocked your bootloader?...
Yes I have.
Now I'm confused by this:Getting root access
Download these files AMON RA and put it in the same directory as fastboot and SU and put it on the root of your SD card.
Now you will need to boot into fastboot and open a command prompt like when you unlocked to bootloader.
Then in the command prompt issue the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" Where "recovery.img" is the name of the recovery file you downloaded earlier)
Then "fastboot boot recovery.img" (same goes for this)
I have put the file "su" on the root of my SD card.
I have run the command
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1-CM.img
That went OK. Now what?
Excellent.. one step further. Although I don't see SU file as it's not a zip
Not in the gingerbreak.zip file you linked. It's a 7kb file just named SU
That's the instructions for locked bootloaders - you're gonna do it the easy way! ;D
Download this, and put it on the root of your sd:
Do the same with this:
I was able to execute the fix-recovery.zip file
but the other one fails. It sams Wrong Digest. Verification failed
You have to turn off verification in Amon Ra.
It's a sub option in one of the menus.
Is there a menu option named "Other", or something like that?
Oh yes, that worked.. thanks..
Now is that it, I'm done?
I'd like to by the latest cyanogen on it next.
