    Yes, however, multi-touch has been enabled for root users for some time now. As the phone matures, the gap between root users having access to certain features and those waiting for Google updates will likely get larger and larger.

    Of course, rooting has allowed for much more than multi-touch anyways. Tethering for instance is a feature that is available to root users and will likely never be enabled by Google.

    there is a non rooted tethering app on the market now. it may get pulled but it is there
