UPDATE: after good results the first day of trying it out, my phone is constantly on edge now, even in areas where i had a solid 3g before. i don't know why, but i had to force it to 3g now so i would advise against it.

For anyone who's not root, you may not be stuck with this... I sent my phone off to HTC for a minor cosmetic repair and it's come back to me regressed to ERE27 :D

It's not a replacement handset either, it's got the same IMEI.

You can just send it to them saying "I have problems with UMTS" and they will update the ROM.
Edit // but you DO know that this leaked ROM is ERE36B and not 27?

I thought that was his point -- that while we can't necessarily go backwards with firmware ourselves (can we?) HTC has a factory means of replacing the firmware and it installs an older version. Maybe I got it wrong?

Didn't remember that you already flashed ERE36B and sent to HTC after flashing.
Thought you did find a way getting updated by them :P

Did the word 'regressed' not give it away

For what it's worth though, it says at the bottom of the job sheet that they'll update your phones software when they get their mits on it.
