    Very cool stuff.

    - The FM radio loads, but makes no sound / finds no stations it seems. Maybe we need Desire radio?
This has my interest and would be the only reason I'd move over to it probably...

I love the Sense UI. I would root my phone if a ROM was released.

for me, it's the native features such as the clock with weather, Exchange calendar, Exchange contacts and Exchange email, native pinch to zoom and a few more goodies. i have a personal bias towards sense because i liked it with WinMo. i also installed the swype keyboard and it's working well. this version has some small graphical issues and still needs to be fine tuned by the cooks. if you look closely at the top of each picture you'll see horizontal lines within the notification bar icons. i just wanted to see what it would look like so i'll test over the weekend. attached are a few screenshoots using the (alpha version of the) Desire ROM on my N1.

I would also like to know how stable the Desire rom that's out now is. I haven't rooted, but am SO tempted. Don't want the lock Icon on startup (plus the warranty issues).

You may want to check XDA developers' forum for this info.
