Notice any difference in battery life? I agree, this thread is a nexusoneforum classic. Cyanogen owes it royalties or something.

    Help

I have been trying to unlock the bootloader for an hour now and have gotten no where. I have tried on my mac and windows xp machines.

I need help. Is there some guide you can point to or make for me?

Full Update Guide - Nexus One Firmware to CyanogenMod - CyanogenMod Wiki

Did you check that guide out shadow runner?

also did you go to settings-applications-development-usb debugging (andmade sure usb debugging was checked?)

This is from a windows perspective. I'm clueless about macs.

So you have the SDK and you're in XP on VM of your mac, you've already downloaded the usb drivers, and you have the phone plugged via USB?

Battery life was shorter when I went to CM, and currently approximately the same with OC'd kernel. I was able to go almost to 10 at night before phone shuts off having unplugged to go to work at 8:00 in the morning. But now it seems I have to change my battery by 4:00 or 5:00. Having Main and spare battery is perfect right now for the amount of things I do on the phone, so no worries.

I believe the kernel is where it tells the cpu the max and min cpu speed, and kmob's modifications are done in the kernel. Without that modification in the kernel, SETCPU which is an application that allows you to set the cpu speed will not be able to overclock it. so you have to get the mod and flash it to your existing rom to make those modifications.

he actually made it easy for us that use CM, Cyanogenmod because its just a zip file that all you need to do is go into Amon Ra's recovery and make sure you do backup, then flash from zip and that's it. when you turn phone back on, make sure you install setcpu and you'll be able to set it to 1.13ghz.

So you flashed the recovery image and got into the recovery mode and saw the choice for nandroid backup, made the choice and it told you error?

I haven't seen that from anyone before, maybe the recovery image didn't take, you could try to flash the recovery image again and see if this time you perform the nandroid backup it'll take.
