Same here! Then I wiped it just because I could, and I wanted the practice :D I didn't quite get why everybody wants a 16 gig SD card now... do we need it for extra goodies?

Oh I'm still so grateful Neon started this thread, rooting was one of the best decisions I ever made! (uhmmm concerning a cell phone, I mean) :D

I'm a geek by nature but, I notice in a couple of pages or so, it's getting geekier and geekier by the minute. I think I'm just gonna hold off on rooting and wait for google updates to come. It seems you gotta catch up with the rest of the pack in order to be with the Jone's. And I think I'm just gonna "bake" some brownies and listen to my internet "radio".:rofl3:
LOL! My main problem is this thread moves so fast, I am having difficulties keeping up on weekdays. Every time I sit down to read it, by the time I finish reading, it's several pages further already!
This morning I took the time to read back from page 70 or so, and a lot became clear(er). I am slowly getting more comfortable with this whole rooting thing, but I am far, far behind Thomas, Neon & others

Edit: would it be an idea to split this thread at this point, and leave the really geeky stuff in the techie forum, so that root-converts-to-be who are starting on page 80 are not totally overwhelmed? Just a thought... we DO want more rooters on our side, right? :D I mean, the first post says (and rightfully so) that newcomers should read the thread before asking too many questions, but I don't think it is fair to expect them to read 80+ pages, most of which will be total gobbledygook for anybody but the most hardcore geek...

this is the best way to remove apps that you don't want!

    boot into recovery and:

    adb shell mount /system
    adb shell rm /system/app/xxxx.pk

    To look what is there:

    adb shell ls /system/app

Yes, the voice search/function stopped working with the NexTHEME. He JUST updated with the optimized version that fixed the voicesearch and some other minor bugs. :P You should add him on twitter! He has been posting updates on all of his themes and when the updates are pushed!

    I sort of agree....

If it was more technical, a thread COULD go in the Android development subforum of this thread. But I don't see what the good of having more than one thread with the same information.

Most likely it would be the same people posting in the thread, and its less likely someone would get help with a serious problem if there are multiple threads spaced out among different sections of this forum.

I really only care about people who straight out ask any question, without looking through ANY pages of the thread. Because if fresh-root'ers aren't able to dig through a few pages, how would you EVER expect to dig through a forum like XDA which has threads of 100+++ pages?

I posted this problem early on in the thread, as I did the same thing. What I did was I flashed a Amon Ra v1.5.3 and it took the flash. Once I did that I was able to Nandroid Recover to the last Custom Rom point that I had, as well as flash zip from SD a complete fresh "install". Once I got my recovery image ability back, I was then able to get root access and then when I reflashed v1.6.2 it took.

Another way I think will work also, which I didn't try would be at this point, use the superboot way, gain root access, then reflash v1.6.2 of AmonRa and that "might" potentially fix your problem.

Don't panic, it's happened to one of us before, and we, I mean me, came out of it unscathed.. lol
