This happened after you selected "Flash zip from sdcard"?

Have you ever successfully flashed a ROM?

Make sure you always do a nand backup before doing anything. Then wipe.

Plus do any app backup you have on phone.

I haven't had this problem before, someone will answer.

You can pull your battery if it is still stuck and think it all over.

Could be a lot of reasons, what recovery image did you flash? Do you have SDK installed on PC thru which you flashed a recovery image like Amonra. Would need your complete process of how you got to where you are plus build. Is the ROM you are flashing for your particular phone?

I am no expert so once you give us that info, maybe someone can help.

I cant have both named "update"
Copy them both the way they are. Does not matter since you will be asked what do you want to flash on your phone. Just make sure you know which one is which.

Sorry folks, but what benefits does ROOTing give me? Is it like jailbreaking an iPhone?

Rooting gives you root access on your phone. You can use special apps that the Android API does not allow you to do so. Yes, you may compare it with Jailbreaking to some extent.

I just rooted my phone not too long ago. It's great! I mainly did it so I could edit my hosts file, plus I found a couple sweet apps that you need root access for.
