same here anything new coming out makes me really want it. I've been checking around like crazy to find out when it comes out. Pavlovian reflexes, very cool way of putting it.

I haven't found any single reason so far to want the Gingerbread update. It offers nothing useful. I'm gonna stick with CyanogenMod 6.0 until Honeycomb, or perhaps even Ice Cream.

CM6 does every single thing I want and does it well
o- Nexus One running CyanogenMod 6.0
o- Samsung Galaxy Tab running stock Froyo (update: running Gingerbread and virtually useless)

Oooooooooh. I like that! I'm on CM6 as well but that might be worth a try (as long as my 1-click root isn't removed)

No one nows and we won`t know until gingerbread comes out so why does everybody keep asking this? Also who cares if we need 2.2.1 or not because what is inclded in 2.2.1 will be included in gingerbread so even if you do need it then when gingerbread comes out try and update and if it just gives you 2.2.1 then update again, and if it is for root reasons (I know you are not rooted fury but for others who may be asking the same question) will it kill you to not be rooted for a week or so?

Transitions are already added to Froyo 2.2.1 such as RoD's MIUI 1.8.1, like in this video. No need to wait for Gingerbread or Honeycomb.
