    Hi all, I want one, but have questions.

    Hello everyone, I have been reading these forums for some time now, drooling over the possibilities of the Nexus One, which I am trying to get my hands on, I am in Guatemala so it is quite difficult.

    The 'problem' that I have is identifying the correct model for me, that is to say, the cellular networks where I live and work here in Guatemala:-

    [ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM"]TIGO - GSM[/ame]/[ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPRS"]GPRS[/ame]/[ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDGE"]EDGE[/ame] 850 mhz and [ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS"]UMTS[/ame]/[ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSDPA"]HSDPA[/ame] 850 Mhz

    [ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/CDMA"]CLARO - CDMA[/ame] 1X EV-DO REV 0 1900 mhz, [ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM"]GSM[/ame]/[ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPRS"]GPRS[/ame]/[ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/EDGE"]EDGE[/ame] 900/1900 Mhz and [ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS"]UMTS[/ame]/[ame="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSPA"]HSPA[/ame] 1900 Mhz

    As far as I can understand it I need a particular model that works with the AT&T 850 3G and the 1900 3G Frequencies which not all models have.

    Is this right? Or am I confusing myself? any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Chris.

    More and more reading, so I now think I need the PB99110 ? AT&T 850/1900 3G phone, which is supposedly rare? could someone please confirm this so I don't spend $500 on a phone that will only have EDGE speeds where I am. Thanks again.

    Ya I think you will need the at&t version note that I didn't take a look at your link but just buy the link address it looks like that is what you'll need. Although rare might not be the word there are more of the t-mobile version than the at&t version because it was out first but it isn't really rare

    Ok well now I went to go check out the link then I saw it was just links to Wikipedia to define gsm and such but really to know for sure you would have to get the frequencies from your carrier and cross reference them with the ones from the two models of nexus one.

    Ah ok, so I didn't even realize I put links in there, so the carriers are TIGO and CLARO, ::: Tigo ::: and Claro, how is your Spanish?!

    Well my Spanish isn't exactly top notch but thank god for Google translate XD anyway I looked around and found that tigo uses 850MHz band which is the at&t version, for claro I haven't checked yet but chances are it will be the same because in general that is the most renouned frequency band just that I didn't want to tell you that and then you get stuck and it works on neither carrier. Although if you want I can check it out for claro.

    Ok that's great, I use Tigo at the moment as it has the best coverage, so I'll be looking around for the AT&T version then, thanks for your help.
